What is P3?
The International Conference: Planet, People, Peace(P3) is Costa Rica’s only international event on ecotourism and sustainable tourism. Its name represents the focus of reconfirming our commitment to redirect the essence of its People back to the Planet, sharing our experience as a country of Peace.
P3, our mission and vision
Mission
Planet, People, Peace is a forum which foments the exchange of knowledge and experiences of sustainable tourism from an international perspective in order to better understand our environment as well as create a consciousness of the role played by our actions..
Vision
To be a leading international platform for sustainable tourism committed to the common good, made up of people from different parts of the world, and thus stimulate open analysis, motivation and innovation.
Objectives
- To create a learning platform which brings together entrepreneurs and world leaders from different sectors to exchange knowledge and share experiences to motivate the creation and implementation of innovative ideas and projects, and to inspire participants to commit themselves to sustainability both on individual and social levels.
- To strengthen the position of Costa Rica as a responsible destination, highlighting the efforts, good practices and innovative initiatives undertaken in favor of sustainability by the country’s different public and private sectors, and thereby increasing its global leadership in this field.
- To position the Cámara Nacional de Ecoturismo y Turismo Sostenible (National Chamber of Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism, CANAECO) as a nationally and internationally recognized leader in sustainability.

Ecological Blue Flag
In 2013, P3 was the first event in the tourism sector to receive the Ecological Blue Flag in the category of special events, obtaining this award again in 2015, 2017 & 2019.
Since 2013
Tourist and Cultural Interest
Event declared a Tourist Interest by the Costa Rican Tourism Board since 2013 and declared a Cultural Interest by the Culture Ministry in 2015 and 2017.
