Sustainable Event
P3 not only focuses on the theme of ecotourism and sustainability, and the event itself is intrinsically sustainable.CANAECO and the P3 Executive Committee are committed to holding a socially and environmentally responsible event.
In 2017, a commission was created to prepare the sustainability plan for the event, which includes the matrix of environmental and socio-economic impacts, as well as actions to mitigate these impacts prior to, during and after the conference.
Compliance
Compliance with the environmental criteria established by the Ecological Blue Flag Program for the category of special events.
Volunteering
P3 supports social, environmental and educational projects by organizing a series of volunteer sessions.
Employment Generation
P3 generates direct and indirect employment (with more than 80 direct employees).
Commitment to Sustainability
P3 communicates its commitment as a sustainable event to its suppliers, sponsors, lecturers, participants and the general public, informing about its good practices.
Responsible Behavior
CANAECO stimulates, evaluates and monitors responsible behavior throughout the value chain through the good and service suppliers are hired for the P3 event.
Healthy and Sustainable Gastronomy
The event is wholeheartedly committed to healthy and sustainable gastronomy, fostering productive supply chains and supporting local producers based on the National Plan for Healthy Sustainable Gastronomy.
100% Carbon Neutral
100% of event emissions are offset (including air and land transport, electricity and LPG gas use). In addition, P3 works on an emission reduction plan through good practices.
Positive Social and Environmental Impact
P3 has generated positive social and environmental impacts on issues such as: water savings, energy savings, waste management, waste reduction, transport and emissions reduction, support for local consumption, and integration through community participation.
National Culture and Talent
The P3 Conference promotes Costa Rican culture through different artistic representations which are presented as part of the program in support of national talent.
The International Conference: Planet, People, Peace(P3) is Costa Rica’s only international event on ecotourism and sustainable tourism, its name represents the focus of reconfirming our commitment to redirect the essence of its People back to the Planet, sharing our experience as a country of Peace.
